Chicago Public Library Second Saturday: Inventions

April 10, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for an inventive edition of Second Saturday! This month is all about inventing, DIY, and making. Through story times and fun activities we will learn how to create and design something unique and new! Participants in the 2021 Invention Convention will stop by to show off some of their potential invention ideas. We will also be joined by young local inventors who previously participated in the Chicago Student Invention Convention. Come explore with us and tune in for a fun and interactive experience!

During the program, Mr. Fernando will teach us how to make a paddle boat using supplies you have at home. Here are the materials you will need to make your paddle boat:

  • Scissors
  • 2 Pencils
  • 3 Rubber Bands
  • A Small Plastic Container
  • Thin Cardboard or Chipboard
  • Ruler
  • A Large Container with Water or Sink
