OUR PROGRAM

CURRICULUM

The Illinois Student Invention Convention (ISIC) provides educators with a FREE and flexible curriculum that guides K-8th grade students through the invention process. All lesson plans are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Common Core.

Activities teach creativity, design-thinking, and engineering skills that students use to create an original invention that addresses their chosen problem.

Resources And Mentorship

We provide educators free professional development opportunities and program-specific enrichment resources.

ISIC also has mentorship opportunities that bring industry professionals into the classroom to support students during the invention process.

Competition

As a state affiliate of Invention Convention Worldwide, ISIC provides students an opportunity to compete in a series of escalating competitions at the local, regional, national, and global level.

Some winners will have the opportunity to get their inventions patented and prototyped, and all students receive feedback from invention judges who help them take their ideas to the next level.
