Sénadé Sodji, Solisquito Cap | Grade: 5th

Problem:

The problem my invention solves is people not having access to electricity. It is specifically for students who have the problem of staying up in the dark doing their homework by candlelight or kerosene lamp and are constantly being bitten by bugs due to not having electricity.

Solution:

My invention solves the problem because it uses solar energy, or the power of the sun to charge an adjustable light. This is environmentally friendly and it provides needed light to people without electricity. The light has a cord connected to the solar panel to charge. My invention also has mosquito netting so that when a student is using the light, the attracted bugs can't bite them. If they do not want the mosquito netting it can be stored in a pocket at the top of the hat.

Millan Mallipeddi, UV Berry | Grade: 7th

Problem:

Annually, approximately two million people contract fatal diseases from contaminated water. Many sicknesses, diseases, and viruses such as cholera and schistosomiasis thrive in contaminated water.

Solution:

By eliminating harmful pathogens using ultraviolet radiation, the wate is rendered safer to drink. Unlike other sterilization methods, the unique design of the UV does not touch or contaminate the edge of the cup.

Crystal Cervantes, The Typer | Grade: 8th

Problem:

My invention would help solve the problem, visually disabled have more difficulty independently using a cellular device.

Solution:

My invention helps solve this problem by creating a custom braille keyboard for visually disabled people to use when typing. This way they can use a cellular device independently.

Lila Nanisetty, Thermo Bat | Grade: 6th

Problem:

The problem is not being able to see where on the bat you hit the ball, because then you can't improve.

Solution:

My invention changes color when hit, and therefore helps the batter see where they hit the bat.

Kaelyn McColl, SeeLikeMe | Grade: 7th

Problem:

Myself and other visually impaired people find it hard to express their visual challengers to the fully sighted world.

Solution:

I was born with Retino Blastoma a type of cancer that develops in the back of the eye. Throughout my life this visual impairment has caused me to resent my disability, but this project has taught me to embrace my differences and explore the full extent of my visual damage through augmented reality. I created an augmented reality application that paired with a google cardboard headset allows other people to experience my vision first hand. I believe this application can help many other people who long to communicate how they see the world. It took me a long time to accept my visual differences and to feel that I belong. My invention proves that being visually impaired does not mean that I am any less successful or capable of making a difference and may help others feel that way as well.

Aishani De, The Right-Bud | Grade: 5th

Problem:

My invention helps solve the problem of figuring out which earbud is meant for the right ear and the earbud for the left ear more easily.

Solution:

The Right-Bud is a pair of earbuds with the right bud colored. This is very useful for young children who cannot read yet, people who have dyslexia, which means people who have a lot of difficulty telling left from right and people with vision problem that can't see the small letters R and L marked on some of the earbuds. This is also very handy for busy people who are always on the go!

Noah Hong, The Good Breather | Grade: 7th

Problem:

Ineffective and unsustainable air pollution masks can often be ineffective, unavailable for those with different face shapes and sizes, inaccessible for those in developing countries, and are often made with plastics that are harmful to the environment.

Solution:

It uses biometric facial recognition to develop personalized masks, allowing for different sizes and shapes. Because the masks will be produced in large rolls of mask fabric, the mask can easily be attained by all people in sufficient amounts, thus providing a wider reach. The mask fabric is made with cotton and activated charcoal (among its many other materials), making it a much more natural and environmentally friendly choice than its plastic mask counterparts that are used today.

Megan Briana Williams, Mega Speaker Breathe Your Music | Grade: 4th

Problem:

The music isn't loud and clear directly from your phone nor does your phone allow aromatherapy scents. Your phone also does not have a strap or a personalized decoration.

Solution:

I`ve made a invention that makes music from a small device play louder and clearer while at the same time, send aromatherapy scents throughout the air while the music is playing. The aromatherapy scents will enhance the experience of music by making it more fun or more relaxing as you listen. the speakers also have a strap, making the speakers portable.

Aria Barve & Kelly Feng, Whipper Music Flipper | Grade: 7th

Problem:

The problem is the inability to flip music pages quickly.

Solution:

It turns the pages with the push of a button using a BBC microbit and a servo motor arm.

Lily Kambs, Fog-eze PPE | Grade: 4th

Problem:

Glasses are fogging up when wearing a face mask.

Solution:

It prevents the fog from getting on your glasses that you can see better.

Kailey McGuire, Kids Fun Portable Sink | Grade: 1st

Problem:

Restrooms or places to wash your hands are not always readily available during outdoor outings or places where kids play, and kids contact many germs in the course of their activities. Kids also may not want to wash their hands regularly.

Solution:

A portable sink can be used by parents to wash their kids' hands when on the go to helps to prevent germs. It is collapsable and comes with removable attachments for accessories like hand sanitizer and storage for the water. The bright colors make it fun for kids to use.

Victor Ortiz, The Voda Shoe Sanitizer | Grade: 3rd

Problem:

My invention prevents germs from getting in your house because we pick up germs on our shoes and you'll have germs contaminate in your house.

Solution:

The Voda Shoe Sanitizer solves the problem because you step into The Voda Shoe Sanitizer and the bottom of your shoe is making friction. You're gonna rub your shoe and there is gonna be like bumpy rubber and that makes friction and I was thinking of putting a spray on the invention.

Julia Ijimakin, No More Poacher Problems | Grade: 4th

Problem:

The problem my invention solves is endangered animals being killed by poachers.

Solution:

When my invention senses a poachers gun, it will make a loud beeping noise. The endangered animal will be scared off by the noise and run away. If the animals runs away, then the poacher will not be able to catch it.

Tyson Madkins, Mask Holder with Extenders | Grade: 5th

Problem:

People may not always have access to clean, fresh masks. Another problem is that used masks are adding to the litter problem.

Solution:

It provides people the ability to always have up to 20 clean masks available to them as well as has a place to hold used masks.

Violet Wolfman, Micro Water Filter (MWF) | Grade: 5th

Problem:

The problem that my invention solves is when you wash your laundry, microplastics get into your water supply.

Solution:

My invention solves the problem because it filters out the microplastics before they go down the drain and enter the city's water supply.
